Andromaq

Once upon a spring, there were telescopes stuck to the ground looking out for dying stars. Young Astyanax was there too, in the cold heights of this oracle, headphones on as ever, listening to a broadcast from afar. One year after the war in Troy. In the cinema, we listen along to the story of a king in love with a queen whose man and country his sword slayed. A chain of dialogues where desire mocks political duties.

Above is an excerpt from the film, below a series of stills, in chronological order.

A film still of a macro shot with three ants inside a yellow flower. A film still of a wide shot on a snowy mountain top, we see somebody with headphones on strolling in the snow and two large radio telescopes in the distance. A film still with a macro shot inside a spiky bright magenta flower. A film still with a close-up on a young girl’s face with a nosebleed, lit only by a faint ember. A film still with a wide shot in the dark where we see only a girl seating, with reflective trousers beaming red and a passing moth, also flooded in red. A film still with a rocky mountain plain covered in snow with a distinct blood splatter on it.
